Sports

Experts believe that play—a dynamic, active, and constructive behavior—is an essential and integral part of all children’s health growth, development, and learning across all ages, domains, and cultures. In addition, they concur that play occupies a central role in children’s lives. They also suggest that the absence of play is an obstacle to the development of healthy and creative individuals. Yet, most of the children living in the remote areas of Saint-Louis du nord and la Tortue, Haiti never had access to any sports facility whatsoever. Knowing the importance of sports in children’s lives, Saint-Louis Demain, Inc. wants to bring that important aspect of life to these needy children. We want to provide materials and equipment for soccer and basketball. We want to encourage local leaders to identify vacant sites to organize tournaments for the youth so they can exhibit their skills and talent.

This program will be supervised by Coach Bertin Cemelfort and implemented by Mr. Rene Sejour who lives in Saint-Louis du nord, Haiti. We’ll devote 20 percent of our resources to this program.

Last but not least, Saint-Louis Demain, Inc. wants to organize an annual Toy Drive both in Miami Florida and in the remote areas of Saint-Louis du Nord and La Tortue, Haiti.

The purpose of the Toy Drive is to instill a sense of hope and exhibit love, compassion, and caring. We will devote 10 percent of our resources to implement this program and Dr. Smith Joseph will oversee it.

The Board of Saint-Louis Demain, Inc. has adopted by resolution a conflict of interest policy that is consistent with the sample conflict of interest in Appendix A on July 12, 2006 .
